Downtown Development
Downtown Pleasant Hill is now a part of a Community Improvement
District (CID) The CID was developed to funnel funds into the area
for promotion, beautification and cohesion among the downtown
property owners.
The area was recently added to the National Historic Registry.
Restoration continues on several buildings. New sidewalks have
been installed on Lake Street and the Beautification committee
continues to work hard. In conjunction with the Downtown Association
activities continue to be planned to promote the area by the merchants.
A grant has been received to build a walking trail up the west side of
the town to link the area with the housing developments on the north side
of town. Long range goals include the future link to the Katy Trail. Though
quite a distant down the road, plans continue to be made to support
the link.
Downtown continues to look for individuals desiring a tranquil location
to start or move an existing business to. If interested in locating commercial
property in Downtown Pleasant Hill, Contact Randy Miller or Mark Randall at
city hall. 540-3135.
